Exhibition-Altitude

All 40 pieces for my upcoming show in Australia at Fyre Gallery
have been completed and delivered
along with two sculptures.The works are on paper and incorporate my
passions for printmaking, collage and painting. The show is titled
Altitude, and it reflects my love of the landscape, skies, culture,
people and places of New Mexico. I will be attending the opening and
looking forward to promoting Ampersand panels in workshops around
Australia.

Aspen-Dance
Aspen Dance 22.5"x15" mixed media on paper
Here is another piece for my Altitude show in Australia next month.
Aspen Dance incorporates collograph printmaking with acrylic painting,
painting on fabric and transfers. It conveys the feeling of the dance
the quaking aspen leaves make and the musical score to go along with it.

EVENTS-New Gallery in Santa Fe

I am pleased to announce that you may find art in Santa Fe at Weiss
Fine Art gallery at the base of
Canyon Road. Antonio has a small gallery on Paseo de Peralta, right
across the street from the entrance to Canyon Road. The most incredible
part is that it is the exact same space where I began my art career in
Santa Fe many years ago. It was a jewelry wholesale shop then and I
worked and lived in the space as a teenager. I went on to open a retail
space on Old Santa Fe Trail with the man who hired me to work for him
that summer. I have come full circle back to the same space. Amazing.
Thank you Antonio. If you are coming to Santa Fe and would like to see
more of my work you may still visit my studio too.

Collector's Corner

Lisa with her new painting, La Luz
I had another very special visitor to my studio recently. Lisa had
contacted me that she was in town on a writing sabbatical and she was
hoping to come by the studio. We made arrangements and it turns out she
is from Charlotte, NC where I will be teaching. As we talked, she fell
in love with this painting, La Luz. I had just rearranged some work and
had only that morning hung this painting. She too has a form of
synesthesia where art creates a strong physiological response. She
writes about artists and now I know why. I hope to have her do some
writing for me. Thank you Lisa!

2017 Workshop Schedule and 2018 dates
Workshops make great gifts!
Australia in November! My exhibition will be in Braidwood, NSW at the
Fyre Gallery. I will be giving workshops in Melbourne, Canberra and
Sydney. I am working with art manufacturers to bring this workshop free
to participants. Check out the locations here
. I will be giving hands-on
demos at Eckersley stores in Canberra on 14 November, Melbourne 18
November, Sydney 23 November and Newcastle 24 November. There may be
another Sydney date added.
2018
June Santa Fe Art Intensive I have 2 sessions scheduled for the first
half of June.

Harvest the Abundance
October is my favorite month because of the cool weather, fall colors
and harvest festivals. The waning light reminds me to go deep within to
harvest all of the lessons that have been given to me over the summer.
No matter which hemisphere you are in, we look to the equinox season as
a time to balance our energy. Choose a topic that you wish to explore
this month in your art. It may be air or water, and use that as
inspiration for your next painting, sculpture or story. Namaste
