Rain Song

Rain Song is created with the intention of bringing rain to northern New Mexico where I live. I painted it when teaching in the beautifully lush landscape of the Pacific Northwest. When I got home the forest fires were still burning all around Santa Fe. I finished the piece along with several other rain paintings and today it rained. Visualize it! There are some unusual materials in this mixed media painting including fibers and fabrics. It is painted in acrylic on paper and mounted onto panel, then framed in a black wood floater frame, ready to hang or lean on a shelf.
