Planting Seeds

I began painting in oil with my great aunt when I was only six. A big influence in my young training was also spending time in art classes with our neighbor after school. We did everything from drawing, jewelry, puppetry, pottery, mosaics and mixed media. This is where my love of combining fine art and craft came into being. My love for exploring alternative surfaces and materials has resulted in the publication of six books and many videos.

Planting Seeds tells the story of  my artistic journey, how all of the experiences have led me to where I create today. Working on aluminum allows reflection from the light to bounce back through the transparent paints. Many layers create a rich and sophisticated palette. The colors reflect those of the planting, growing and harvesting seasons.
