Celebrate the Possibilities

This is a rerun from last September, but the reminder is worth repeating.
I focus on the possibilities I wish to see manifest in my life. I have been working with visioning and manifesting most of my life. The thing that sometimes stumps me is the timing. Now that I am older, and a bit wiser and maybe even a little bit more patient, I see that the timing comes when I need it most. This insight happens when looking in the rearview mirror.
How do you envision a huge transformation or a big desire? Begin with the foundation and small steps. When your dreams are not built on a solid foundation, they can come tumbling down on top of you. If you have really BIG dreams, set small steps to get there. If the ladder you need to climb has the first step set so high you cannot reach it, your dreams will never get off the ground. Visualize your dream and then write down the steps you need to take to reach your goal.
If your goal is to have your art in a museum show but you haven’t even done a local show, you need to start working toward that goal. Contact local venues and build your reputation. There are even niche or small local museums that may be attainable sooner than you might imagine. Write down the action steps you need to take and be sure you can achieve them.
Push yourself, but not off the ledge. It is always good to push your comfort zone but don’t make it so difficult that you give up in frustration. If the goal is too easy you will become bored.
Keep your dreams to yourself in the early days. You want to work on refining your vision. It may change and evolve as you contemplate it, and you don’t want to share half thought out plans. Spend time envisioning your outcome. Act as if it has already happened. Imagine yourself giving your acceptance speech, hearing the applause, celebrating with your friends and family. Add as many details as possible. Really feel it and be in that moment. Do this for at least a few moments every day.
Being careful who you trust with your dreams. If there is someone who is always negative about everything, don’t share your dreams with them. If it is a jealous or competitive figure and not an ally, don’t share your dreams with them. Choose your visioning team carefully. I usually write more about the do’s not the don’ts but there are times when you need to protect your vulnerable dreams in the early stages.
When you are ready to share your dreams let others know your plans. If you get pushback, walk away. Don’t let the naysayers get you down. When you enthusiastically share where you are going, others will feel the excitement as well. Let the moment grow and share the ideas. This will help attract others that are willing to help.
Here is the fun part, celebrate every little accomplishment. Write your proposal, your statement, your bio, get your images together, photograph your art. Every little detail deserves a celebration. This may look like you are reaching over your shoulder and giving yourself a pat on the back or writing a little love note to yourself. You did it, you deserve acknowledgement.
Keep building your list, drawing your map and envisioning your success. I celebrate you for reading to the end! Yay!
