Touch the Sky

I sometimes begin a painting as an example for an upcoming workshop. This piece illustrates how to use both fluid paint similar to watercolor and then add thicker and more opaque paint. I had just returned from southern Italy and the blues were fresh in my mind. My mind went to the sky and how the sea and the sky are reflections of each other, both vibrant, moving and mysterious.
