Sky Passages is a commissioned painting inspired by The Long View, a horizontal work you can find under the Horizontals tab. Changing a painting’s size and scale calls for a new composition and shifts its mood. The Long View evokes the experience of seeing the West on a long drive, while Sky Passages draws you into the landscape. Its expanded sky and landscape of textures and copper leaf invite a closer look, while the horizon preserves the sense of a sweeping mountain view.
I adapted the painting through several conversations and photos of the space where it will hang. We’re both excited, and I’ll deliver it next week. I love creating commissions, and the process is straightforward. With more studio time now available, I welcome new commissions. Let’s talk.
