The Probability of Being

When I work in series, I usually paint several pieces right after another, but there are other ways to create a series. A theme, a place or even reinterpreting the same piece many times, like Monet’s haystack paintings. Then there is the possibility to use an older piece to jumpstart an entirely new work. That is what I did with this piece. The original was painted decades ago, and it is small. I used a printed image of it and incorporated it into a larger work. This piece has wonderful texture and depth. It is framed and ready to hang.
